Well, there is the small matter that Tomboy represents a beachhead for mono into most distributions. The idea that a note-taking application is important enough to require its own framework installed is absurd on its face, yet it represents a major strategical victory for Team Mono.

From there, it is much easier to argue every other mono application should go in, too - as they all coincidentally happen to be "best-of-breed".

It seems similar to what GNU did to Unix: a line by line rewrite which does the same thing.

Am I missing something?

I am sad that someone "defending" Open-Source can be so hypocritical about something important: writing an application is not putting keywords and variables one after another, it is building a logic, a structure that enties the apps and all of its internals. Gnote is a ripoff line by line of a previously written application that's protected by Intellectual Property regulations. I can't bear how Microsoftian you seem by stating such lame statements about "it is not the same language, so basta". You are a danger for Open Source, please quit; giving lessons to some, not applying them to one's self, but trying to enforce ill-µsoftie old propaganda on something else is completely dishonest; "oh, the FTP Master didn't notice the copyright requirements failure, then it must be an illusion". The author of Gnote is just dumb enough to not know the GPL and was just cluefull enough to correct it when someone pointed out his fallacy.

I'm sick of your boycottnovell-anti-µS propaganda: you make us foolish morons unable to read their own "holy-sanctum" licenses. Very sad. And shameful.
