The FSF speaks again on Mono, to include the Community Promise issue, and renders a verdict: The “promise is full of loopholes, and it’s nowhere near enough to make C# safe.”
ITWire is reporting that rms has made a preliminary statement that “Microsoft’s ‘Community Promise’ is quite inadequate”.

Recently, Richard M. Stallman made a short and considered statement that free software shouldn’t depend on mono or C#.
Give it a read if you haven’t already; it is both consise and complete. There has already been an outpouring of willful misunderstanding of rms’ argument and a truly disgusting amount of personal attacks.
